CONSTRUCTION
This kit was built mostly box stock, with the exception of the Aeromaster decals and hypodermic tubing for the gun barrels. This is only my fifth airplane I've built (6th kit overall) since my return to the hobby in 1998. This kit posed no major problems in construction, other than the normal lower wing to fuselage fit that others have experienced with this kit. As with most my other kits, the only place I used filler was for all the seams, like on the fuselage join lines.

COCKPIT
Nothing was done to the cockpit other than picking out the details with a brush and placing a drop of Future on each of the dials to simulate the glass. I think it turned out well. What do you think?

PAINT / DECALS
The plane was painted with Model Master Enamels, Olive Drab over Neutral Gray. I wasn't happy with the way the demarcations lines came out initially. I tried the rolled tape method, and it just seemed to fuzzy. After many attempts with both my Paasche H and VL on a soft demarcation line, I was about ready to quite. A friend of mine lent me his Paasche V, which has a finer needle. After a little practice I was freehanding demarcation lines. (NOTE: My wife got me a Iwata Airbrush for Christmas this year, so hopefully I can use that one for my next demarcation line project.) Once everything had thoroughly dried, I applied a gloss coat of Future in preperation for decaling, this was top coated with more Future to help hide the decals. After the future setup, I applied a burnt umber oil wash to the plane as this aircraft was known to be muddy. It didn't really turnout like I wanted, but after several other attempts, I thought I'd just let it be and not mess anything up. I also applied some gun blasts and exhaust streaking with chalks. This was then sealed with the Polly Scale Flat Acrylic. A post to Hyperscale revealed a new technique for applying the Polly Scale Flat. Mix it in a 1:1 ratio, Polly Scale Flat and Windex. Nice smooth, quick drying finish can be achieved with this mixture.
